Texas Patriots PAC responds to pay raises for Montgomery County Commissioners and County Judge

(The Woodlands, Texas) -  Texas Patriots PAC commented on the actions of the Montgomery County commissioners and County Judge to give themselves a 10 per cent pay raise.

“Pay raises ought to be tied to performance, not just comparisons to what others make,” Julie Turner, President of Texas Patriots PAC, said. “Having elected officials vote for their own pay raises gives the public discomfort.”

At Commissioners Court on Tuesday, August 11 the commissioners discussed a pay raise for county employees and the court. The four commissioners currently make approximately $160,000 per year, while the county judge makes approximately $166,000. With the pay raise, the commissioners would all earn approximately $176,000, while the county judge would earn more than $180,000 – potentially the highest pay grades in the state. County employees, on the other hand, would receive a 3 per cent pay raise.

Texas Patriots PAC, a non-partisan Tea Party organization dedicated to the election of candidates who share their core values of constitutionally limited government, free markets, and fiscal responsibility, is based in The Woodlands, Texas.  For more information, please visit www.TexasPatriotsPAC.com
